Yesterday was Peter David Frampton’s big day: Adoption Day! He joined his new family and happy home.
It has been a crazy week for me. I took a little stroll around town and ended up at the local Walmart.
I was just thinking about doing a little bit of shopping, when suddenly out of nowhere, an animal control officer came up and asked me where I was supposed to be. I really thought Walmart, but turns out Walmart did not want me wandering around. So, off we went to the shelter.
The shelter ladies LOVED me. They told me I could use a bath and some Bulldog maintenance, for sure. They were concerned about my ears having fly strikes on them. I agreed that I could use a spa day.
After a few days of hanging around, I saw some familiar faces and I realized my family had came looking for me.
Then it happened. I heard it all. My family was told I had to be neutered because that was the shelter rule. They said I was not worth that to them.
I could not believe my ears. They said I was “no value, “and that they didn’t want me back if they had to neuter me.
Right then and there, they signed me over to the shelter. They didn’t even turn around to say goodbye…. even after five years of being together.
I sighed with relief.
Maybe I have no value to them anymore, but I had already heard about rescue. They would love me and want me.
I left the shelter, got myself a microchip and soon will be looking for a family who finds value in a Bulldog like me. Deep down, I know I’m worth it.
7/25/23 Update: Hello everyone! Did you forget me? On May 17 I joined rescue with skin problems and pneumonia. I didn’t know I was that sick until the vet called the rescue lady and gave her a report. I knew I had been feeling under the weather, but I thought it was because I had been walking around for a bit and was just tired.
Pneumonia, now that was serious in a bulldog. But I had great care and my very own kennel attendant who sat with me, gave me breathing treatments, medication and slipped the best treats in her pocket for me.
I had decided I never wanted to leave the clinic. But guess what? Yesterday I heard there was a big bulldog party, and I was invited to go. That’s right, a party and I was going. I checked out of the clinic and headed to the party. I wish everyone could have seen me there. It was magical . The love everyone showed me was overwhelming. It was like a Star Was Born. I met a lot of people and other bulldogs. I met kids and all types of people. And everyone loved me. I predict very soon I will have my very own forever home. That has been a long time coming for me, but I am ready now and healthy to a T.
8/22/23 Update: Foster girl Luna Madi and foster boy Peter David Frampton went for a joy ride and got a quick dose of fresh air today.
