1/10/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From Piggy: Piggy fans, celebrate with me… I have a new family, and I moved to St. Louis! 🎉

My foster mom has been telling me about a wonderful family involved in bulldog rescue in Illinois who have a special place in their hearts for senior pups. They specifically asked about me! We had a virtual visit, they fell in love, and Thursday became my adoption day. I was SO excited.

We woke up early and my foster parents and I hit the road. I had the entire back of the mini car to myself and spent most of the 3½-hour trip snoring and gassing. 💤💨We made a pit stop for a sausage McMuffin. That was a 10/10, highly recommend.

We met my new mom and dad in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and the moment I saw them, my tail started wagging.

My foster mom and new mom went over all of my “Piggy essentials,” along with the many bags of goodies I brought with me. After a quick potty break, I was ready to roll again. About six more hours later, I was finally home.

My room was all set up with a comfy bed and a couch, very on brand for me. I ate dinner, settled in and snuggled with Dad. He even slept in my room so I wouldn’t be alone.

Yesterday, I slowly started meeting my new sisters. My new family includes two Great Danes, Linda and Vera, and four cats: Evelyn, Mabel, Sushi and Libby. A whole house full of ladies!

I am really happy. 💗

Thank you to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue for all the love, support and dedication that helped me find my home.

INTRODUCTION: Piggy is still a little unsure about this new chapter in her life. Her dad decided to surrender her because his top priority has always been her safety and well-being.

Piggy has been her dad’s loyal companion since she was a puppy ~ for the past seven years. But over the past few months, Piggy’s dad has been in and out of the hospital, with some stays lasting only a few days and others much longer. He struggles with mobility and often barely has the energy to feed and let Piggy outside.

With many tears, he made the difficult decision to have us find Piggy a new family because he wants nothing but the best for her.

In the weeks ahead, Piggy will visit Dr. Larsen and enjoy snuggling in her lap. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and adores children. What she needs now is a soft, warm place to call home. Piggy also would be grateful if you could send a little prayer for her dad as he navigates this difficult time.

1/30/25 UPDATE:  I finally got to meet the infamous Dr. Larsen this past Friday! She is so sweet, and she even told me how pretty I am. I got to sit on Logan’s lap while getting poked for blood and treated to a little manicure/pedicure. Dr. Larsen said my eyes, ears, and skin have some infections, so I’ve got medicine and drops to take. I also have to take two baths a week with my special shampoo—aren’t I lucky? I’ll go back for a recheck in three weeks, and hopefully, everything will be all cleared up so we can schedule my surgeries.

After my checkup, Foster Mom and Foster Dad said we could go grab lunch before picking up the grandson. I got a burger, and let me tell you—it was amazing!

2/21/25 UPDATE:  Piggy here, I went to see Dr Larsen for my check up last week.  She said my eyes & skin look better but I still have a few more weeks of medication and then I can have my surgeries. So I will continue to take it easy and lounge at my foster home.

I am the best girl, but I really do not like the cold & rainy weather!  I go out as quick as possible then back in. I hope there are some people out there that love a bulldog with a lot of wrinkles!  I also do a bunny hop for my food.

4/2/25 UPDATE:  “Piggy Pants” here…. Well, that’s one of my nicknames.

I have been taking it easy and I finally have my surgery scheduled for Thursday to fix my eyes and remove my “baby Bulldog cocoon.” Then, I will be ready to find my next family and home.

I’m really easy going, love to lounge, chew on Benebones and eat. I mean, I really love to eat. I also enjoy lots of treats, especially the special snacks from Foster Mom. She’s been adding veggies and fruit to my food, and I always gobble them up.

Please send me some good vibes for Thursday!

4/14/25 UPDATE:  Last week’s surgeries went well! Dr. Larsen said she had never removed so much skin for an entropion before — I’m basically a medical record now

I was in surgery for 2.5 hours, which is quite a marathon, and I’ve got plenty of stitches to prove it! In fact, my new nickname this week is FrankenPiggy.

Doc added stitches to my eye, shoulder, knee, back foot, and even my tummy. Oh, and a few teeth decided it was time to move on — but don’t worry, that hasn’t slowed down my appetite one bit!

Now, I’m on a full spa regimen of medicated scrubs, ointments, eye drops, and daily meds that Foster Mom has to manage like a pro. My eyes were really swollen post-surgery, so there’s a chance I might need a little touch-up later.

Recovery is going slowly but steadily — lots of rest and naps are helping. Stitches come out next week

Can’t wait!

6/30/25 UPDATE: Piggy needs a family! She writes: I’m all healed up and officially ready to find my family. All I need is a soft bed, a cozy spot to rest, and lots of love.

I’m a mellow girl who gets along well with other dogs. I still need daily eye drops and regular medicated baths, but I don’t mind—I actually love bath time and playing with the water hose!

I’m also a big fan of fruits and veggies (the crunchier, the better!) and never say no to a snack.

If you’re looking for a sweet, laid-back companion with a playful streak, I might just be your perfect match. 💕

8/10/25 UPDATE: We’re working to find Piggy a family! She writes: Piggy here! Just out in the yard doing what I do best—being adorable and soaking up some sunshine while I wait patiently for my next family. 🌞

Foster Mom calls me “Piggy Yard Art” because I love lounging in the grass like a little garden statue. With these hot temps lately, I only get a few minutes to bask, but I make them count!

I get along great with all the other dogs here, and I adore Foster Mom’s grandson—he’s the best! I’m a sweet senior lady just looking for a home that sees the beauty in gray muzzles and gentle souls.

I don’t need much—just a couple of baths each week to help keep my skin and fabulous wrinkles fresh, some daily eye drops, a comfy spot to nap and of course, a Benebone or two.
