Pork Chopstick

Pork Chopstick

I wanted to pop in really quick and let you know that I found my new family!

Yesterday, Foster Mom and Foster Dad took me to meet a family who has loved Bulldogs for a really long time. They’ve even made some previous Bulldogs of Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue part of their family.

When we met up, they had their two Bulldog loves with them. One of them was a little older and I don’t think she cared one way or another about me. The other one though? She loved me and I loved her! I didn’t even want to go back home with my foster parents, but my new family needed to get things prepared for me.

Sure enough, the next day my new dad came and picked me up! I am going to love having someone to play with anytime I want.

There are still so many of my Bulldog friends who need homes. Please fill out your application today. Maybe you can make it a special Valentine’s Day for a special four-legged friend…. and yourself, of course!

Early this morning, our volunteer Tina dropped everything to welcome Pork Chopstick into our program.

He was rushed to Dr. Larsen due to an obstruction of some sort. He hadn’t been able to eat for about a week.

Today’s surgery went well, but he’s not fully out of the woods yet.

Dr. Larsen found a small ball, perhaps a cat or child’s toy, that was blocking his entire intestine. It appeared that it had been there for some time, as part of his intestines were already black. The staff cut that part away and are hopeful everything will get back to being the healthy pink it’s supposed to be!

This evening, he is awake, aware and resting in recovery. His color is better and he’s more hydrated.

Please continue to keep him in your thoughts. Our fingers/paws are crossed that his healing goes smoothly and there are no hiccups.

11/16/23 Update:  He made it through the night! He’s up and alert. The vet staff will feed by hand shortly so he can take his medicines. Thank you for sending this sweet boy your good vibes!

11/20/23 Update:  Foster boy Pork Chopstick continues to heal nicely from his obstruction surgery, thanks to your support! He’s eating well and now even playing and chewing his toys. YAY! We’re looking forward to fattening up this little dude. Those ribs will disappear soon enough.
