Raider

Raider

5/25/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: When Raider showed up at our home, we knew right away—this guy was something else. Adorable? Absolutely. Overflowing with personality? No doubt. House-trained and crate-trained (he proudly referred to his crate as his bachelor pad)? Of course.

We were smitten. He made us laugh daily, and it didn’t take long before we found ourselves falling in love with him.

Then we got the call: a great family had been found for Raider. We took a family vote—unanimous agreement. We’d only say yes if it was the perfect match. And guess what? It was.

Raider, now named Rocky, has joined an incredible family who recently lost their beloved dog, Porter. Their hearts were heavy, but Rocky was exactly the joy and comfort they needed.

He’s now got two amazing human brothers, Liam and Jack—soccer stars who are giving him plenty of action on and off the field—and two wonderful parents, Alex and Emily, who’ve welcomed him with open arms.

To be honest, Rocky may have been slightly too excited about joining such a fun family. But with patience, love, and guidance, he’s figured out how to channel that energy and show just how awesome he really is.

Even Jojo, the queen of their Bulldog crew, approves—and that says everything.

We’ll always love him, but knowing he’s exactly where he’s meant to be makes this goodbye a sweet one. We’re so proud of you, Rocky. Go live your best life, buddy.

INTRODUCTION: At just 2 years old, Raider is the definition of cuteness and sweetness. Unfortunately, his past wasn’t as gentle as his personality.

Raider found himself in a home with a much larger, more aggressive dog who made him the target of constant bullying. The wounds on his neck and head tell the story of battles he didn’t win, and scars that run deeper than just the physical. To make matters worse, the child in the home developed allergies, and Raider was thought to be the cause.

Whatever the reason, Raider was more than ready to leave that environment behind and start a new life! His eyes are in need of care, neither testicle has dropped, and he couldn’t remember the last time he’d seen a vet.

But there are better days ahead for Raider. All his medical needs will be taken care of, and he will soon find a loving family who will appreciate him for the wonderful Bulldog he truly is. He deserves nothing less than to be treated like the treasure he was always meant to be.

4/18/25 update:  We welcomed Raider to our foster crew yesterday, and this boy is pure affection wrapped in cuteness! He came to us fresh off an unexpected vet visit for some eye repair, but he hasn’t let that slow him down one bit.

While his home-defense skills might rival Texas Tech’s defensive stats (we’ll let you decide if that’s good or bad), Raider is 100% sweetheart. No tough guy here—just a gentle soul who’s all about love and snuggles.

Last night gave us a perfect glimpse into his personality: Terry and I were reading, I was at my desk, Terry was leaning against the bed, and our German Shepherd, Toby, was on full alert, “guarding” the bed from Raider’s gentle curiosity.

Suddenly, Toby starts barking, leaps off the bed, and runs out of the room. Raider calmly walks to the bedroom door, peeks into the hallway to assess the “threat” and then runs right back to hide behind me.

Let’s just say he’s more of a backup support type than a front-line defender. He’s happy to let Toby, Pippa, Lilly, the cats, the humans, and possibly a few imaginary monsters handle security detail.

We already love having him here—even if it’s just for a short time. Raider, we’re happy to be your goofy, easily entertained foster family.

4/23/25 update: My foster parents say I’m the best boy EVER—and I have to agree.

They went out of town for the weekend, so I got to hang with my human foster brother. I showed off my skills by hopping up on the tall patio chairs like a pro. He was cleaning the backyard, so naturally, I pitched in by rolling the garbage can for him. Teamwork makes the dream work, right?

My foster mom says I’m the perfect gentleman. She even let me decorate my man cave (aka my kennel) with all my favorite toys. It took me a while to understand what toys were actually for—in my old home, the other dog didn’t like to share. But now? I’m making up for lost time and loving every squeak, tug and toss.

I’m all about love—giving it, showing it, soaking it in. I mind my manners, dine like a polite gentleman alongside my doggy siblings, and I’m just a whisker away from perfect.

Whoever gets to call me theirs forever? They’re in for a seriously lucky life.

5/8/25 update:  This handsome, one-of-a-kind guy lives to be unintentionally unique. Take our walk-in shower, for example—most people use it to, you know, shower alone. But not if Raider has a say in it.

Picture this: you’re mid-rinse, eyes closed, lathering up your hair and when you open them—there’s Raider. Standing right next to you, bum wagging, just thrilled to be part of the routine. No shame, no boundaries—just pure joy.

And he doesn’t stop there.

Leave a towel on the floor? Raider sees it as a deluxe self-service drying station. He’ll plop right down, roll around, and “dry off” like a pro. It’s part adorable, part ridiculous, and 100% Raider.

He doesn’t ask for much—just to be near you, to love on you, and to join in your daily adventures (even the steamy, soapy ones). He gives affection freely, without ever expecting it in return but if you want to love him back? Oh, he’s ready for that too.
