7/13/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: Sage Brook now has a loving family to call her very own — complete with a work-from-home lifestyle, new human siblings, and even a furry brother to play with! It’s truly a perfect match.
From where she started to where she is now, it’s been quite the journey — full of challenges, growth and so much love. Every moment was worth it, and seeing her this happy makes it all worthwhile.

INTRODUCTION: Sage Brook could hardly believe her luck when the rescue wagon pulled up in the pouring rain.
Just hours earlier, she’d been posted on Nextdoor as a Bulldog “in heat” who needed a new home—an unfortunate description that attracted the wrong kind of attention.
The post claimed she came with a crate, dog food, and bowls. What it didn’t say was that the crate was barely the size of a shoebox (and missing a bottom), and the “dog food” amounted to a small Ziploc bag.
Born on July 11, 2023, Sage is still young, but she’s already shown remarkable resilience and sweetness. She spent her first night with one of our volunteers, fitting in beautifully with a household of five other dogs. She also met some children and absolutely lit up with all the love and attention.
Sage Brook is gentle and cautious—she’ll quietly hide if she hears raised voices—but she’s learning quickly that people can be kind and homes can be safe. After a vet visit to take care of her spay when the time is right, Sage Brook will be ready to find a family to call her own.
7/9/25 UPDATE: Sage Brook needs a family! She writes: I’ve been in my foster home for a couple of weeks now, and I’m settling in really well. My foster family has been taking such great care of me, and I’m learning new things every day!
A few things to know about me: I’m crate trained, and I’ve figured out that outside is the place to do my business—yay me! Loud noises still make me a little nervous, but I’ve come a long way and continue to build my confidence.
I’m still a puppy at heart, which means I sometimes get a little too excited and jump up or nibble at hands—it’s never mean, I just get happy! I’m also working hard on not chewing things I shouldn’t. Luckily, my foster mom gives me lots of chew toys (though I still think left shoes are extra special, so she hides those from me 😉).
Thanks for following along as I grow and learn—I’m getting better every day!
