3/1/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From the foster momma: February 28 was a big and beautiful day for Sampson David.
It was predicted he would be matched quickly, and that proved true. This slightly goofy, 8-month-old love bug was the whole package: sweet-tempered, curious, just mischievous enough to be charming and an excellent smoocher. I suspected he would truly thrive in a busier home with plenty of activity and stimulation — and I was right!
After a wonderful meet and greet, it was clear this was the happy new beginning everyone hoped for.
Sampson David now lives in Austin with his new mom, dad, sister and brother… and he even has a dog! He hit it off beautifully with Duke, the family’s 9-year-old Golden Retriever they’ve had since he was a puppy. The two are already fast friends.
I’ve received several sweet text updates, and Sampson David had a great first night and day… playing, loving and being deeply loved in return.
Happy tails to Sampson David and his wonderful new family!

1/17/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Sampson David to our rescue family! He writes: I have some exciting news. On Wednesday, my sister and I officially joined the rescue family. Being reunited with her after time apart filled my heart, and we’re both incredibly grateful for this fresh start.
I was born on June 22, 2025. When I was a young pup, I was adopted by my truck-driver dad, and we shared so many adventures together. I loved life on the road. Seeing new places, meeting new faces, and riding high in the cab of an 18-wheeler. As I grew, lifting me in and out just became too much. And hopping in and out of the truck wasn’t working well either, so I returned to my first home. While that chapter ended, I’m thankful for every mile we shared and excited for what comes next.
I walk beautifully on a leash and have strong, speedy legs that love a good, energetic walk. I’m outgoing, confident, and never shy. I’m always ready to make a new friend. My ideal family would be active, have other dogs and be looking for a loyal companion to join them on life’s adventures.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I’m ready for playtime, new friendships and a lifetime of happy memories. I can’t wait to possibly be matched to you!

🐾 Foster families make stories like Sampson David’s possible.
We are in urgent need of foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to help dogs while they wait to be matched to their adoptive families. The commitment is temporary, but the impact is life-changing. If you can open your home and heart (even for a short time), please message us to learn more about fostering. With more helping hands, we can save more Bulldogs.
2/16/26 UPDATE ~ From Sampson David’s foster momma: Sampson David is an incredibly loving boy. If you enjoy kisses and the occasional sweet ear nibble, you’re in luck. There is no shortage of affection from this pup! 💕
He has earned sofa privileges and has spent the last two nights sharing the king-size bed with me. He cuddles so close, there’s still room for another adult with space to spare! Even better, he settled in beautifully… sleeping a full eight hours both nights without jumping off the bed once.
Sampson David has thoroughly tested every toy in the toy box… and the toy box itself. His current favorite is a special bone, and he definitely qualifies as a power chewer. Because he’s still very much a puppy, he’ll need supervision to ensure he sticks to appropriate chew toys.
He understands the game of fetch and does well with the command “drop it” — the one command he seems to know so far. “Sit” is currently a work in progress. 😉
He walks nicely on leash, follows me around the house, and is eager to be near his people. He’s had just one accident (a missed cue), and he now sits by the door to signal when he needs to go out. Such a smart boy!
Mealtime is exciting. He eats quickly, but seems relaxed while doing so. In fact, he’s even started bringing his bowl back as if to politely request seconds!
Sampson David hasn’t barked once. He’s not a huge fan of the crate, but with a little encouragement (and maybe a bribe), he goes in and settles down after a few minutes.
At the pickup from the vet’s office, he met another Bulldog and several new people and showed zero aggression… just a playful bow and a desire to make friends. He truly hasn’t met a stranger and happily solicits pets from everyone he meets.
Sampson David has the sweetest, most gentle temperament and is simply a great pup.
2/22/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Sampson David turned 8 months old today and is the perfect mix of love bug and lovable mischief!
Housetraining is going very well, with only a couple of “why did you do that?!” moments during his first week. He is a certified power chewer, but thankfully he keeps his enthusiasm focused on his toys. His foster mom crates him when she leaves to prevent any unsupervised chewing or creative exploring.
You can count on Sampson David for at least a couple of zoomie sessions each day, and a full toy box explosion during playtime! Every single toy must come out. It’s the rules.
He has earned sofa privileges and is an A+ cuddle buddy. At bedtime, he’s a super snuggly companion who sleeps soundly for 8–9 hours (complete with soft snores).
His adorable quirk? Mealtime theatrics. He starts out eating nicely from his bowl, but then decides it’s much better to dump it out and dine off the tray instead. Presentation matters!
Sampson David walks beautifully on leash and currently enjoys two walks a day…. though “walk” might be generous. They’re really sniff-fests where he carefully investigates everything along the way.
I think Sampson David would thrive in a busier home, possibly with kids, where he can enjoy more stimulation and activity.
If you’re a fan of soft snores, daily zoomies, toy explosions and endless smooches, Sampson David may just be your perfect match.
