Stormie

Stormie

Stormie got adopted! Her family is from Houston, so they had a longish drive. Her new family were so excited to meet her in person and take her home. It was love at first sight! Stormie was so excited to jump in the car with her new little sister to start her new adventure. We’re so glad you can be home for the holidays, Stormie!

Bulldog friends, when Sandy got picked up by the local animal control I was right there with her.

Most dogs would run from animal control, but not us. We were so thankful they came. This Texas heat was killing us, and we were going to die from heat exhaustion. I had sweat all over me, and I needed some water badly!  My nose was starting to bleed, and I was starting to throw up. I was seeing my life play out right before my eyes.

I was not very old, and death seemed better than this heat. But I was spared because I was able to get cooled off, get a drink of water, and get calmed down.

Today I got the results back from my blood test and of all things, I have Ehrlichiosis. That’s a fancy term for a tick-borne infection caused by a tick infestation.  So, I will be on antibiotics for a while and before you know it, I will be good as new.

I am not very old, and right now I am too thin, but in a couple weeks you will see me start to see me fill out. Being sick I really didn’t feel like eating.

So, bulldog people send in a application, and see if we are the perfect bulldog match. My name is Stormie and I think I am 3.

9/7/23 Update:  What is the meaning of the name Stormie?

The name Stormie is primarily a gender-neutral name of American origin that means “Impetuous Nature.” It can also mean strong and brave.

Well, after the awesome adoption of Dewey and Riley Shane, we have our next foster girl named Stormie. I had to look up the meaning of the name to see if it fit! And there is nothing impetuous about our girl.

This petite lady was found wandering the streets in the 109 degree heat so she is definitely strong and brave.

Stormie had a recent litter and is currently actively getting her Bulldog figure back by working out with her new friends, Otis, Stella and Ellie Mae.  She also works out by chasing a cat or two, if they will run, but most of the time, she ignores those lowly creatures.

Stormie does great in her crate, appears to be housebroken, loves her treats and is the first Bulldog I have had that isn’t food obsessed. She eats slowly and politely.

Stormie has also begun to play and explore. She is a smaller Bulldog that I feel would do well in any situation. She is a treasure!

10/5/23 Update:  It’s beginning to look a lot like fall around here! My foster mom loves to decorate for Halloween and fall. Some of her décor looks really fun to play with and chew on… but I’m told I’m a really good girl and I don’t do naughty things.

I am great in my crate and I’m house trained. I love all other creatures and I love to play. I can get a little anxious to go for a walk outside the front door or a car ride. My foster mom has been working with me on not running past her to go explore.

I can’t wait to go to the 2023 Bull-O-Ween with my foster auntie Tanya! My foster parents will be at a my foster sister’s wedding on Oct. 14. Ms. Dianne remind them that they should have chosen one of the 364 other days to get married. HA!

We have a really fun costume to wear to the big party. Well, TTFN. See you there!

10/20/23 Update:  Stormie checking in!! I am so sorry I couldn’t make it to Bulloween my FM was in Utah at my foster sister’s wedding, Auntie T was going to bring me but she had to take care of my Grandma. I had a costume for the event, I was the Bull and I had a cute little bullrider! I have been at the A5 for a little over a month and I have really settled in, I am playful and fun loving acting more like a puppy every day. I would love a Furever family and I am great in my crate and love all my furry friends. I will be at Campisi’s on Nov. 12Looking forward to meeting everyone.
