Wilma Lee (now Lucy)

Wilma Lee (now Lucy)

Sam Hunt and Wilma Lee have been adopted!  They are now known as Ricky and Lucy.

It is very befitting for these lovable babes. Ricky and Lucy will be living their best lives in the beautiful city of San Antonio.

Their forever Dad “Art” has been a long-time follower and supporter of our rescue.

After the passing of his own babe Walter in July, Art was ready to grow his family by two.  I know Ricky and Lucy will receive all the love, attention, and security of a loving family they so deserve.

Dad “Art” enjoys coming to our events so don’t be surprised if we see the dynamic duo again—Ricky & Lucy.

Bulldog family, when I was picked up by animal control it was was ok. My feet were tired of walking and getting a ride seemed fabulous to me.

When I got to the shelter it was a different thing. I heard all the dog there snickering and pointing at me whispering “Look at that ole lady she will never leave here.” They kept whispering she will never find a family that would want her. I hung my head and wondered if they were right. I have lost the bounce in my step and when I walk, I walk slowly. But I do get where I need to go.

I sat at the shelter waiting for my family to find me. And I waited a long time. I started to believe the other dogs there—that no one wanted a senior lady. It was a sad reality for me. And then just like magic my new shelter friends came and said I had someone in the lobby waiting to pick me up! I sprinted down the hall. I laughed out loud when I passed the other dogs that had been so mean to me. I jumped into the arms of my new rescue friend Ty that was waiting in the lobby. Ty said he loved me, and no bulldog got left in this rescue.

Ty named me Wilma. He said he loved that name and he loved me!
