8/23/25 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT… times two! From volunteer Tina: I have the most exciting news to share! When I called this wonderful family to talk about adoption, they didn’t hesitate for a second—they didn’t just want one dog… they wanted TWO!
And who better to fill that request than our besties, Odelia and YaYa? 💕
After some FaceTime introductions, lots of questions, and a whole lot of tail wags, the family knew these two girls were meant to be theirs. On Friday morning, the dynamic duo packed their bags and headed off to start their new life together in Colorado! 🏔️
Odelia will now be known as Molly, and YaYa is now Maggie. They’ve officially joined a loving family who’s already planning trips to the park, dog-friendly restaurants, and—get this—there are deer in the backyard! 🦌
Oh, and don’t worry about the Colorado cold. Mom is already shopping for parkas! I cannot wait for those photos.
So long, sweet girls! Molly and Maggie, we’re so happy your journey brought you to the perfect home—together.
Wishing you a lifetime of snuggles, adventures and love. 💖

6/9/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome YaYa to our rescue family! She writes: Hello, darlings — my name is YaYa, and I’m a fabulous 6-year-old lady looking for a family to adore me!
My fur is white as snow and soft as silk, and I’m just as lovely on the inside. I joined rescue because, as much as I loved my old home, I spent way too much time alone. I’m a social butterfly and thrive when I’m surrounded by love, attention and activity.
I’m a petite queen, weighing in at around 40 pounds, and yes — I fully expect to be treated like royalty! ![]()
I’ll be having surgery on both of my eyes soon to help me see the world more clearly, and I’ll also be spayed. I had one litter in the past and decided that was more than enough — one and done, thank you very much!
My ideal home? One that’s active, full of love, and ready to take me along for the ride. I want to be your sidekick, your snuggle buddy, your passenger princess — and in return, I’ll give you my whole heart.
Let me be the queen I was born to be, and I promise to fill your days with love, laughter and a little sass.
6/25/25 UDPATE: From the foster pops: “Sitting here in la-la, waiting for my YaYa… uh huh, uh huh…” 🎶 ~ remember that Lee Dorsey song from 1966?
Well, folks, the wait is over—Miss YaYa has officially wiggled her way into our hearts and across the threshold into the guest suite! She met her temporary roomie, Miss Odelia, with a curious sniff through the gate, so the introductions are underway.
The original song may be playful nonsense, and so might the name “YaYa”—but it suits her just fine. She’s got a soulful wiggle, a warm spirit, and a name that makes you smile. What more could you want?
In her first ten minutes in the guest suite, Miss YaYa jumped up for love—no hesitation, just trust. We already know she’s going to acclimate quickly and rise to the top of our list of adoptable Bulldogs.
Worried about her age? Don’t be. At 6 years old, she brings wisdom and calm—no puppy drama, just a loving, ready-made family member. We feel incredibly lucky to host her and honored to be part of her journey.
Stay tuned for pupdates—Miss YaYa’s story is just beginning.
7/6/25 UPDATE: YaYa needs a family! She writes: Wow—mere days since I leased a guest suite at Chez Maison Ménard B&B! Get this: no down payment, no credit check, and upon arrival, the hospitality staff welcomed me with cold cuts, cheese, fruit, and pastries. What self-respecting Bulldog could believe her luck?
In this short time, I’ve experienced more ups and downs than a scale at a Weight Watchers meeting! I wasn’t quite sure how to play at first, but my energetic fur roomie, foster girl Miss Odelia, has been a top-tier coach. We’ve mastered keep-away, tug-of-war, and ball chase. But by far, our favorite is what we like to call the grab-ass game—we leap on each other from behind, wrap our paws around each other’s butts, and try to wrestle one another to the ground. We’re evenly matched in weight, so it’s full-on Greco-Roman chaos until we collapse side by side for a well-earned nap.
At 6 years old, it seems my “senior” days are going to have to wait—there’s still too much puppy energy in these paws.
About three days into my stay, a food allergy darkened my otherwise sunny doorstep. Egad! I vomited, got dehydrated, and just felt miserable. It was a Saturday, and I figured my chances of finding a vet were slim… and Slim had skipped town for Lubbock.
Enter Auntie Tina, superhero in a Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue cape! She got me into her vet immediately. One injection and a hydration boost later, I was feeling good as new.
And just when things seemed to settle down, another visitor arrived—Mr. Munch, here for a brief stay while his mom, Sophia, travels to the East Coast for Independence Day.
So to recap: new home, new bestie, new games, a surprise vet visit, and a new guest. Through it all, my bum hasn’t stopped wagging. Think I might be an adaptable and adoptable Bulldog? I sure do.
