1/16/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Alli Mae to our rescue family! She writes: On Thursday evening, I arrived by transport, carrying a story far too familiar in rescue.
Where I came from, my owner was evicted and left me outside in the rain. The neighbors knew what I was to her: a baby-making vessel, nothing more. Even as I sat there ~ wet, scared, and still just a baby myself ~ people walked past me, over me and away.
I eventually moved myself onto a familiar porch, out of the rain. I sat there quietly, watching… waiting… hoping someone would see me as more than I had been treated.
And finally, someone did.
Someone who knew I deserved better than being discarded when I was no longer useful took me in and began searching for help. I didn’t care that rescue was far away. I was more than willing to ride shotgun for a chance at a better life.
I arrived with a new bed, a new collar and leash, and a heart full of determination. I am 27 pounds of Bulldog, heartworm positive, with two cherry eyes, but I am also resilient, hopeful and ready for a future where I am someone’s everything, not just a breeding machine.
Someday soon, I will be fabulous.
And for the first time, I will be loved.
🖤 Foster families make stories like mine possible.
We urgently need foster homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth area so dogs like me can stay close to our partner veterinarians and attend public events. With more local foster volunteers, we can say yes to more Bulldogs in need and save more lives.
If you’ve ever thought about fostering, now is the time. Be the bridge between heartbreak and healing. Message us to learn more.
