6/8/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Olive May to our rescue family.
For much of her life, Olive May could be spotted around town riding in a stroller while her dad walked beside her. They were homeless, but they had each other.
Every day, we see people experiencing homelessness with their dogs. Often, those dogs are the one constant source of love and companionship in their lives. Despite having so little, Olive May’s dad always made sure she had food, water and a safe place by his side.
But eventually, the challenges became too much. Olive May developed a rectal prolapse, and her eyes were growing increasingly painful. Knowing he could no longer provide the care she needed, her dad made the heartbreaking decision to seek help for the little dog he loved so much.
Thankfully, help was waiting.
The team at Kerrville Pets Alive! welcomed Olive May with open arms. Her prolapse was treated, her eyes began receiving the medical care they desperately needed and she was showered with love along the way. She enjoyed warm baths, gentle brushing and carefully prepared meals while she healed. Before long, she became a favorite among staff and volunteers alike.
Olive May was transferred to our care thanks to our transport volunteers David and his wife. They were given a folder full of medical records, care instructions and notes detailing everything about her routine. Page after page reflected the dedication of the incredible team that cared for her around the clock and made sure nothing about Olive May was overlooked.
Now it’s our turn.
Olive May is just 2 years old and weighs a petite 30-something pounds. Her favorite place in the world? Curled up in your lap, soaking up all the love she can get.
She’s been through a lot in her short life, but we think Olive May’s best chapter is still ahead of her.
Stories like Olive May’s are why we do what we do… but we can’t do it alone. We urgently need more foster families throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area to open their homes to Bulldogs in need. Fostering is temporary, but the impact is lifelong. Without foster homes, dogs like Olive May have nowhere to go when they need help the most.
