4/17/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Welcome Brigitte Barkdot to our rescue family!
You would think Brigitte Barkdot had it all: a family of her own, a place to call home and probably plenty of toys to keep her 14-month-old mind and body entertained.
But this week, that life came to an abrupt halt.
She hopped into the car thinking it was just another ride. Another outing. Another normal day. But this ride was different.
Her owners no longer wanted her, so they handed her off to someone they believed would love her. Instead, that person walked her into a hair salon, kennel in hand… and left her there.
Just like that.
In just a few days, Brigitte Barkdot was passed from one set of hands to another… discarded, confused and unsure of what she did wrong.
The salon owner was left surprised, unsure of what to do next. But sometimes, even in the middle of heartbreak, the right people show up.
One of the stylists happened to have a client connected to friends of Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue. A call was made. And that was all it took.
Brigitte Barkdot is safe.
She’s now part of rescue, where her story won’t end like this. Where she’ll be given the patience, care and love she deserves. Where someone will show her that she was never disposable.
We’ll never understand how anyone could walk away from her, but we do know this: her next chapter will be her best.

5/6/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Brigitte Barkdot is an absolute sweetheart! At just 36 pounds, she’s a perfectly petite girl with a big, lovable personality. She’s submissive and gets along wonderfully with everyone she meets, both people and other dogs.
Her ideal home will be one where she can snuggle up with her humans, because this girl loves to cuddle! She’s incredibly affectionate and happiest when she’s close to you, whether that’s beside you, behind you or curled up right on top of you. If you had a purse big enough, she’d probably volunteer to be carried everywhere!
For being only 14 months old, Brigitte is impressively chill. She hasn’t shown much interest in chewing things she shouldn’t. Just one phone charger and a couple of curious moments with shoes… but she’s happy to trade for a toy. And she loves toys! One of her favorite games is trying to sneak toys away from the other pups… she doesn’t always win, but she has a great time trying.
Brigitte Barkdot recently had her vetting completed, and everything looks great. She does have some allergies and has received a Cytopoint injection to help manage them. She is scheduled to be spayed in mid-June and will be ready for her next home shortly after.
Brigitte will make a wonderful, affectionate companion! She’s a cuddly, playful and easygoing pup.
