Freckles

3/21/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Freckles to our rescue family!

Freckles was found as a stray and ended up at a local shelter, but this sweet girl’s story is already looking up. She’s a gentle, loving pup who just needs a little TLC to address a few minor issues and then she’ll be ready to find her forever home.

We are always in need of foster families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to help dogs like Freckles take that next step. Opening your home (even temporarily) can truly save a life. Message us to learn how to become a lifesaver!

Stay tuned, folks… Freckles will be ready to steal hearts very soon.

5/11/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Coming soon to a snuggly lap near you… the one and only Freckles. ❤️

It’s been a while since I’ve had a foster dog, and somehow I ended up with the perfect girl to jump back in with.

Freckles is a tiny little thing, though we’re working on that! At around 4 years old, she’s a pretty chill little lady who is still settling in and learning the routine. Her favorite thing so far? Following me around the house and soaking up all the love and pets she can get.

Like many new rescue dogs, there were a few accidents in the house during the first couple of days, but she’s already making progress with going potty outside. She’s trying hard, and we’re very proud of her.

For the most part, Freckles respectfully stays out of the resident Curmudgeon’s way since he prefers to grumble if she gets too close. 😂 She’s learning the household dynamics very quickly.

We did catch her chewing on a cable wire once, so we redirected her away from it and thankfully haven’t seen her chew on anything else since. Fingers crossed she decides toys are much more fun.

And honestly? Freckles is truly one of the most adorable little girls ever. The pictures absolutely do not do her justice. She has the sweetest face, the gentlest personality, and the kind of presence that makes you instantly want to scoop her up and hold her forever.

So consider this your warning…

Get your lap ready.

5/26/26 UPDATE ~ Foster girl Freckles is planning to check out this weekend’s Bulldog Pickleball Inaugural Showdown in Frisco. Good luck to all the players!

6/6/26 UDPATE ~ From the foster momma: Oh, Freckles… you get a little braver every day.

This sweet girl has started testing boundaries in the cutest way possible… recently daring to encroach on the resident four-legged curmudgeon’s personal space. We’re not sure who was more surprised by this development! 😂

Outside, Freckles has perfected the art of stealth. She quietly positions herself in the perfect spot and patiently waits for someone to approach and deliver the belly rubs she so clearly deserves.

As her confidence grows, so does her playful side. Freckles will love a home where she can run, play and enjoy life with a companion, whether that companion has two legs or four.

We’re still working on potty training, and she’s making progress. Some days she’s absolutely perfect, while other days she decides the potty pad is the better option if she doesn’t want to wait. Like many dogs, consistency and timing seem to be the key to her success.

Next up is her heartworm treatment, and once she’s finished and medically cleared, Freckles will be ready for the loving family she’s been waiting for.

Every day she blossoms a little more, and we can’t wait to see her shine in a home of her own.

6/7/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Freckles: I’m taking a moment to look back on my adventure at the pickleball tournament a couple of weeks ago, and wow… what a day!

There were so many people, so many pets, so many hugs and more love than a girl could possibly expect in a single afternoon.

I’ll admit, I was a little nervous when I first walked in. It was loud, busy and full of new sights and sounds. But it only took a few minutes before I settled in and started enjoying myself.

Before long, I was making friends with other dogs, charming complete strangers and making sure every corner of the venue had been properly sniffed and investigated.

I was having so much fun that Foster Mom eventually had to take me outside for a little break from all the excitement!

Looking back, that day was a big reminder of how far I’ve come. My confidence continues to grow, and I’m learning that new people, new places and new experiences can be pretty wonderful.

I can’t wait for my next adventure and hopefully, my next family is out there following along with my journey.
