9/17/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Haze to our rescue family!
At 5 years old, Haze has no sad backstory — just a beautiful beginning to a new chapter.
Haze has always been deeply loved, and yesterday, tears flowed like rain as his family said goodbye. It was a heartbreaking decision made out of love, and we promised them he would be in the very best hands.
True to his name, Haze brings a whirlwind of energy and joy everywhere he goes. Within minutes of arriving, he was zooming through the hay, scattering it in every direction just for the fun of it. Today, we’re working on “no jumping,” but Haze seems to think the cue is “watch me jump, I can jump REALLY high!” 😄
He’s a total people-pleaser who adores attention and thrives on affection. While he gets along with male dogs, Haze would do best in a home with female canine companions, as he sometimes likes to puff up his chest like he’s the top dog, and not every boy dog appreciates that!
He’s a solid 70-pound Bulldog lovebug, and while he might accidentally knock over a small child in his excitement, he’s all heart: goofy, happy and just wants to be close to his people.
💚 Haze will be ready to be matched to one of our approved applicants soon, but first, he needs his “snip-snip” (neuter surgery). His care is made possible by generous supporters like you.
This North Texas Giving Day, will you help us cover Haze’s medical costs and ensure dogs like him get the second chance they deserve?

Every dollar brings Haze closer to his forever home.
12/10/25 UPDATE: 🎄💬 A conversation between Haze and his foster mom
Haze: Foster Momma… what’s a foster?
Foster Mom: A foster is a dog who needs a safe place to stay until his forever family finds him.
Haze: So… I’m a foster?
Foster Mom: Yep, sweet boy. You’re staying with me until the family that’s meant for you — the one who will love you forever — comes along.
Haze: Forever? Like… forever-forever? Like “I steal your blankets and follow you into the bathroom” forever?
Foster Mom: Exactly like that. Your own people. Your own home. Your own couch to snore on.
Haze: Wow. Do you think they’ll like me? Even with my mast cell tumor thingy?
Foster Mom: Baby, everyone likes you. You’re the sweetest dog ever. Your tumor was low-grade, the vets took care of it, and it has a low chance of regrowth! All you have to do is just… be you.
Haze: Me? But all I do is wag, smile, and zoom around like a 70-pound Christmas miracle.
Foster Mom: And that’s exactly why they’ll love you.
Haze: Foster Mom… how do I know when I’ve found my forever family?
Foster Mom: You’ll feel it. Just like George Bailey learned — life changes in one moment. Sometimes all it takes is one person seeing your heart.
Haze: Can… can I ask for them? Like… make a wish?
Foster Mom: Of course, Haze. Christmas is the season for wishes.
Haze: Okay… Here goes…
🎄💛
Dear Santa,
If you’re listening…
I don’t need toys or treats.
I don’t need anything fancy.
What I really want — more than anything —
is a home.
A family who sees me and says,
“Haze, you’re ours.”
A place where I’m not a foster anymore…
but forever.
🎄💛
Foster Mom:
That’s a perfect wish, sweetheart. And you know what?
Haze: What, Foster Momma?
Foster Mom: Somewhere out there…someone is already wishing for you, too
