12/6/25 INTRODUCTION: Please welcome Izzy Winter to our rescue family! She writes: On Thursday, I hit the ground running! Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted my mom, Mabel Wish, tiptoeing around the house like she was trying to sneak off without me noticing. I stayed low and quiet, watching her pack. It wasn’t supposed to be my turn to leave the farm, but listen… I’m only 2 and I can run really fast.
So the moment I saw that rescue wagon rolling up, I bolted. I flew right past Mabel Wish, straight into the front seat like lightning. Ohhh, I wish you all could’ve seen her face! “Mad as an old wet hen” doesn’t even begin to cover it. She truly thought she was the only one leaving that day.
She tried everything to coax me out of the wagon, but I had my brakes on and wasn’t budging. Finally, she threw her paws—well, hands—up and said, “If you want to leave that badly, then go!” And that was that. I never looked back.
I knew exactly where I was headed: first to the vet, then to a new sofa, a shiny harness and leash, and, most importantly, daily trips to the magic window where everyone tells me I’m adorable. I’ve never had babies and never will; that’s getting taken care of soon. After that, I’ll be reviewing the approved applications so I can find my home just in time for Christmas!

1/10/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Izzy Winter: Now that it’s 2026 (though I’m not exactly sure what that means), I’m hoping this will be the year I find my next home.
I love where I am right now because my foster parents, the resident Bulldog (Moo Moo), and my favorite playmate, foster brother Brodie, are so much fun to be with.
Every day, Brodie and I have our daily chase scene, and normally I’m always faster than him. As I walk around the house, I have tons of beds to lay on, but to be honest, my favorite spot is the chaise lounge.
I’ve learned how to use the doggy door, but I’ll be honest… I still have accidents in my kennel sometimes. I’m working on it! I think, for two years, that was the only place I knew to pee and poop. My foster parents are being very patient with me and teaching me how to be the best dog ever.
I love to snuggle, get belly rubs and eat (I love that last part the best). Foster Mom makes treats that are so delicious I always try to beg for more. I try to explain to them that the freeze-dried chicken hearts just make my heart bigger so I can love more.
Every night, just like the postal carrier, come rain, snow, hail, sleet or a beautiful evening, we go for a walk around the neighborhood. Sometimes I hear new sounds and they scare me, but I’m slowly getting brave
Let me tell you about something that happened the other day. Foster Mom dropped Brodie’s food dish and it made an extremely loud bang on the floor. It even set off this thing called an alarm. That alarm scared me to death. I couldn’t make myself small enough in the bed to escape the sound. But Foster Mom disarmed it, and the scary noise went away.
They also have this tiny human who comes over during the week. She loves to play with me until it’s her bedtime. I hear them tell her to go to bed so she can be ready for school. What that means to me is that Foster Dad is about to break out all the nighttime treats for all of us.
With that said, I have to say goodbye because I hear the treat jar lid calling my name. And believe me, I do not want to miss out on any homemade treats.
I love you all. And to the one who chooses me to be your puppy, just remember: I will always be there for you through thick and thin. Because like Foster Dad says, if no one has told you they love you, well… I love you. And beyond that, there is One who will always love you too.
Love,
Izzy Winter
P.S. Foster Mom thinks I am “electric” because I sport the Tesla emblem on my forehead. I should earn more money for that advertising. LOL
