Murphy

3/31/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Murphy to our rescue family. He writes: I’m a 6-year-old boy who has learned a lot about hope lately.

My story didn’t start in a cozy living room. A little over a year ago, I was just a stray on the streets, wandering and wondering if anyone would ever notice me. A shelter took me in, and then, the best thing happened. A mom chose me. For one whole year, I knew what it felt like to have a front door, a dinner bowl and a place to call my own.

But life is unpredictable. My family had to move, and because of things out of their control, I couldn’t go. They loved me enough to make sure I went to Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue, but saying goodbye to the first home I ever truly knew was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I’m an A+ student in my foster home, but I’m tired of being a visitor.

Here is a little bit more about me, if you’re looking for a new family member.

My Treasure: I still carry the stuffed alligator my mom gave me during our year together. It’s my security blanket. It reminds me that I am lovable, even when the world feels a little shaky.

The Quiet Shadow: Because I’ve been lost before, I never want to lose sight of you. Whether you’re at your desk or on the porch, I’ll be the silent, steady weight resting at your feet. I don’t bark; I just watch over you.

A Brave Patient: My ears were in rough shape when I arrived, and the medicine is scary for a guy like me. But I’m brave. I let my foster parents help me because I so badly want to feel better and be my best self for you.

Gentle and Wise: I’m a “thick” 6-year-old who has seen a lot. I’m fully house-trained, I walk like a perfect gentleman on a leash and I get along with every dog I meet. I just ask for a home without cats, so I can focus all my love on my humans and dog siblings.

I’ve been a stray, and I’ve been a beloved pet. I know the difference, and I’m wishing on every star that I get to be a beloved pet again. This time, for keeps.

I’m ready to put down roots. Could your couch be my final stop?

With hope and wiggles,
Murphy

4/15/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster pops: Murphy is continuing to do well in foster care and is showing more of his personality each day. He is fully house-trained, a gentle eater and enjoys a nice balance of play and relaxation without being overly high-energy. He is also remarkably quiet, even while sleeping.

Murphy loves interaction and play, and like many young dogs, he can be mouthy when he gets excited. He simply gets very enthusiastic during play and is still learning how to moderate his enthusiasm. We are continuing to work with him on redirection and appropriate play manners.

Because of this, we feel Murphy would do best in a home without children, where his play style can be managed safely and consistently. He is a very sweet dog at heart who just needs continued guidance as he builds better impulse control.

Outside of this, Murphy is affectionate, enjoys car rides, loves treats and walks, and is an all-around fun companion. He is progressing well in foster care and is ready to find a patient, understanding family.

4/23/26 UPDATE ~ Murphy will be joining us for Pizza, Pasta and Paws! this Sunday in Celina! 🐾🍕

Come meet this handsome boy between 1–3 p.m.. He’s ready to charm everyone he meets. We hope to see you there!

5/7/26 UPDATE ~ From he foster momma: Have you met Murphy? He’s the quiet, playful companion you’ve been waiting for! If you’re looking for a dog who brings the perfect balance of “life of the party” and “polite gentleman,” Murphy is your guy! He’s a complete joy to have around and is officially ready to find his family.

Why we love Murphy:

Social Butterfly: Murphy loves other dogs! He currently spends his days matching the energy of his Boxer foster sibling and gets along famously with every other dog in the foster home.

Kid-Approved: While we previously thought he might need an adult-only home, Murphy has proved us wrong! He recently met several junior high and high school students with a friendly, playful hello. We now believe he’ll do great with humans of all ages.

The Ultimate Good Boy: He is exceptionally well-mannered. Even in unfenced areas, he stays close by and has excellent recall, coming back inside the moment he’s called.

Quiet and Clean: Murphy is a dream roommate. He’s fully house-trained with zero accidents and is incredibly quiet (unless he spots a squirrel in the yard!). Best of all? He sleeps a solid 8 hours a night without a single peep. Or even a snore!

Independent Yet Loving: Whether he’s self-entertaining with his toys or playing with a fur-sibling, Murphy is adaptable. He would thrive as an only dog or as part of a multi-dog pack.

Murphy has so much love to give and is ready to fill the void in a lucky family’s heart.
