Nami
1/23/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Nami to our rescue family!
From volunteer Sonia: Buggy and Nami were found wandering the streets by animal services just a few days ago. Nami is about 4 years old and about 35 pounds and Buggy is about 2 and weighs about 45 pounds, so we’re thinking they may be mom and son. They get along well, but don’t appear to be bonded, which means they’ll each be free to find the perfect future they deserve.
Some might feel sorry for them, but honestly? I think these two are incredibly lucky. Judging by their condition, it may have been a blessing that they found us. They were covered in fleas and dirt and are very thin, but despite all that, they’re still here, still hopeful.
They were truly at the right place at the right time. Their stray hold ended just as the rescue wagon rolled in, getting them safe, warm and cared for before the bitter cold weather arrived.
Welcome to your new beginning, Nami. Your second chance starts now.

2/24/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: Nami is doing great in her foster home and settling in more each day!
When meeting new dogs, she can come on a little strong, likely due to limited socialization in her early years. She tends to walk right up and get in their face to say hello. There’s nothing mean about it, but not every dog appreciates that approach. If another dog corrects her, she can feel unsure and briefly go into defense mode. The good news? She redirects easily and responds well to guidance.
At her core, Nami is a very happy, affectionate girl who absolutely adores her people. She loves attention and gives it right back. She’s still playful when others are interested, but she’s also perfectly content to relax and be chill when playtime is over.
At night, she sleeps soundly next to the human bed and will happily go into her kennel when asked. She’s a big fan of Benebones and can entertain herself nicely with one. She’s mostly doing her business outside, with just a few kennel accidents along the way as she continues learning her routine.
Nami is a sweet girl who just needs a little continued guidance and confidence-building. With structure and love, she’s going to make a wonderful companion.
3/6/26 UPDATE ~ From the foster momma: In case anyone was wondering if Nami likes kids… the verdict is in: kid tested and approved! 🐾💕
She was incredibly sweet and gentle with them and handled all the attention like a champ.
Nami is still proving to be a bit dog selective. We don’t think she had much socialization in her early years, so when meeting new dogs she can come in a little assertive. Depending on how the other dog responds, they quickly become either friends or “let’s not hang out” acquaintances. The good news is she’s still very responsive to correction and continues to improve.
Like many of our rescued Bulldogs, Nami does have some skin and ear issues that may flare up from time to time. But she’s still an amazing girl with lots of love to give.
3/25/26 UPDATE ~ We’re working to match Nami to the right family for her! From her foster momma: Nami is searching for a home where she can take the lead. This confident girl definitely has a “queen of the house” vibe!
Despite her bossy streak, she has an incredible tolerance for playful, high-energy pups, and it’s easy to see she was once a devoted and patient mama to her babies.
Nami is in great overall health, with only minor allergies and the occasional ear infection to manage. She’s housebroken, crate trained and above all, overflowing with love. She’s ready to bring her big heart and strong spirit to a forever home that will cherish her.
