4/25/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Nova Nicole to our rescue family! She writes: Life is about knowing when to stay and when it’s time to go. For me, it was time.

My name is Nova Nicole, and I’m 3 ½ years old. My family loved me, but life got busy. Everyone was on different schedules, and most days I found myself alone in the backyard, keeping company with birds and squirrels. It wasn’t terrible… but it wasn’t the life I needed, especially with the summer heat on the way.

So when I heard rescue was coming, I didn’t fully understand what it meant, but I knew it meant change. And I hoped it meant being part of a family again.

I’ve had a bit of a past, including an unplanned litter of puppies, but those days are behind me now. I’m ready for a fresh start and a future that’s all about being loved and cared for.

Some people look at me and are quick to call me “fat,” but I prefer to think of myself as beautifully round because round is a shape too. With the right care, I’ll be feeling my best in no time.

I do need to get my vaccinations updated (my last vet visit was in 2022), and I’ve developed a cherry eye that will need attention. But those are just small steps on my way to a much brighter future.

Before long, you’ll see me heading into a foster home, and from there, I’ll join a family I’ve been waiting for… one that has the time, love and commitment I deserve.

If you’re in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, we need you. Dogs like Nova Nicole can’t begin their next chapter without a foster home. Opening your home, even temporarily, does more than save a life. It gives a dog safety, comfort and a second chance, while also bringing purpose, joy and connection into your own life. Fostering truly changes two lives at once. If you’ve been thinking about it, this is your sign to step in and make a difference. Message us to get involved!

5/12/26 UPDATE ~ From foster girl Nova Nicole: Just checking in to let everyone know what I’ve been up to since joining rescue a little over two weeks ago. And let me tell you… I have been BUSY.

First came my big vet appointment where I got poked several times, got my shots updated, had bloodwork done AND the doctor had the audacity to suggest I lose a few pounds. Rude. 😂

Then I attended my very first Bulldog event! I got belly rubs, met lots of new dogs and people and even sampled some pizza. Honestly? It was a fantastic day, and I’m pretty sure everyone there fell in love with me.

Then came surgery last Thursday for my cherry eye. I’m recovering really well, but we need to talk about this cone situation. Whoever invented these things clearly never tried walking through a doorway while wearing one. I’ve bumped into walls, furniture and possibly my own dignity a few times. It’s been humbling.

Overall though, my foster mom says I’m doing wonderfully. I’m sweet, social and settling into foster life like a pro. I love other dogs, enjoy people and kiddos and remain fully committed to my hobbies: belly rubs, snacks and being adorable.

For now, I’m focusing on healing, relaxing and continuing to enjoy all the love and care rescue has given me. 💕

Love,
Nova Nicole
