We are saddened to announce that Alfalfa developed various symptoms, and it was determined he was suffering from a brain tumor. He was called home to the Rainbow Bridge way too soon. He made a wonderful impression on all who knew him.
Welcome 5 year old Alfalfa “Falfa” to rescue. He was an owner surrender when his health issues became too great for his family to handle. It was the most tearful surrender I have experienced. His skin is a mess. He is perhaps allergic to fleas and has scratched so much he has open sores. Much of his hair is gone as you can see. He also has some form of cluster seizures. He will have 3 or 4 a day for a week and then have none for perhaps two weeks. These have gotten progressively worse over the past year. He will be a new guy in no time with proper care and love.
8/5/16 Update: Alfalfa has left the vet clinic for his foster home. His skin looks so much better! He had his tail removed, and all his other medical care is now up-to-date. His former owner said he had seizures, but fortunately, he hasn’t had any while in our care and his blood work is normal. His personality made him a favorite at the vet’s office!
8/21/16 Update: First in the kitchen for breakfast, first in line for a treat, first in line for a hair brush and first in line for a forever family is Alfalfa! Alfalfa is amazing! He has some thin hair, and some regular hair, but his hair is growing in like crazy. If I did not know better I would say Alfalfa has had some hair extensions! He is looking like a polar bear in the middle of August. I predict this week will send Alfalfa his forever family! He is just to amazing to pass up!
