Porky Pork Chop

Porky Pork Chop

Please send your love and sympathies to Porky Pork Chop’s foster family. He unexpectedly left for the Rainbow Bridge. The family is devastated and our hearts are broken.

Lundi writes: Porky passed away on Sunday around 7:30 p.m.  He was only 1 year and 7 months old.

I am guesstimating on the time he passed, as this is when I went to check on him. It had not even been an hour since I was with him, but he was gone. I knew he was, but I still tried to bring him back. I was not ready to let him go.

He was only with me for 13 days, but I loved him the minute I saw him. I wanted to mend his broken heart. I wanted to help him regain his trust in people. I wanted to get him healthy so he could find his forever family ~ a family who would love him unconditionally.

I would talk to him and tell him all about his future family. I promised him this special kind of love that he deserved. He was so gentle and sweet, and he had so many wrinkles.

But even though I gave him all his medication, breathing treatments, fed him by hand, so he had small bites, and gave him water a little at a time, I failed to keep my promise.

I held Porky for a long time I told him I was sorry and that I loved him. I told him that I know my Nola, Brock, Lomi, Poi, Eddie Grant, Laura, Max, Kaimana, Clyde, AJ and Kea met him at the Bridge, along with my mom and dad. They all welcomed him to our family ~ to our “Ohana.”

I told him that I would see him again and gave him a big hug, another “I love you” and kissed him goodnight.

Run free, play and jump my Porky pants.

Porky Pork Chop was ready to go. He was ready to change his address and start looking for love again.

He did nothing wrong. He had some skin problems and two cherry eyes. He became more of a medical challenge than his family anticipated.

At the age of 1, he has rolls all over. We know his next family will want to squish, squeeze and never let him go.

He’s an old soul in a young dog’s body. He goes at his own pace, but gets where he’s going. He never gets in a hurry. He’s not crazy about walking on a leash. He’s more comfortable just ambling right along. If you need to get somewhere quickly, it’s best if he stays behind. You’ll most likely get where you’re going and then come back, while Porky Pork Chop is still thinking about moving.

Before long, Porky Pork Chop will be looking for a home with a family who loves a laid back Bulldog who is happy at his own pace.

5/9/24 Update:  First of all, thank you for saving me because I am really sick.

I went to see Dr. Larsen on Monday. I have pneumonia, infected ears, double cherry eyes, fly bites on my ears and a nose rope that covers my nose. I have a lot of medicine and need 2-3 breathing treatments a day.

I moved into my foster home Monday afternoon. I have a private suite, so I can rest and recover before my surgeries. Foster Mom is making sure that I take all my medication and gives me my breathing treatments. She says I am the best boy, as I am so good with all of this.

She has been feeding me small meals by hand and lets me walk outside at my own pace. I am starting to wag my tail when Foster Mom says my name, which is a good sign that  I am feeling better.

Foster Mom says my wrinkles have wrinkles.
