Gouda

Gouda

3/16/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From Gouda: The day finally came… my big day! After being with Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue since January, I (formerly known as Gouda) found my forever family last week. And guess what? I even got a brand-new name. That’s right… I’m Rosie now. It suits me, don’t you think?

I had a feeling things were looking up the moment my new dad took me for a walk around the neighborhood. So many big trees, so many exciting new smells… I could hardly believe a shelter pup like me had hit the jackpot.

My new home is amazing. I’ve got a wonderful mom and dad, grown-up human siblings, a whole pack of grandbabies, birds, and even a cat. But the best part? I have a handsome new best friend named Louie. And… he’s quite the looker.

Life here is everything I dreamed of. I go on car rides, lounge on the sofa like royalty and sunbathe by the pool whenever I please. Honestly, every day feels like a vacation.

I’m so grateful to my foster family for helping me get ready for this moment… for loving me and helping me become the dog my new family fell in love with. Now I get to spend the rest of my life with them, and I couldn’t be happier.

1/10/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Please welcome Gouda to our rescue family! She writes: My eyes were so covered with gunk that when I got lost, I couldn’t find my way home. Even so, I believed everything would be okay.

An officer in an animal services wagon picked me up and brought me to the shelter, where gentle hands wiped my face clean and helped me see again. Then I waited for my family. I was certain they would come for me.

But they never did. And I still don’t understand why.

The wonderful people at the shelter told me it was time to let go of the past and look toward the future. So here I am, doing just that.

My new name is Gouda, like the cheese. Matured Gouda has a rich, caramel-like flavor, and I think that suits me perfectly.

I’m a sturdy girl at about 60 pounds, around 5 years old, with plenty of love to give. My eyes still need a little work, but I’m told everything can be fixed, and I’ll be as good as new in no time.

I’m an active gal. I love climbing into your lap, handing out kisses and soaking up affection. And just like fine cheese, I promise I’ll only get better with age.

And before you go, I have one more thing to ask, on behalf of dogs like me.

Rescue can’t happen without foster families. Opening your home, even temporarily, gives dogs the chance to heal, to be seen and to find their next families.

If you live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and have room in your heart and home, please consider becoming a foster parent. You could be the reason another lost dog gets a second chance, just like I did. Message us today to learn more.
