Marlo Thomas

Marlo Thomas

After 681 days in rescue, I’ve finally found my home—and it’s absolutely perfect!

I’m thrilled to say that I have everything I’ve ever wanted. My stay-at-home mom is Janet, and she’s my best friend and constant companion; she even calls me her shadow because I follow her everywhere. I also have a wonderful new family: a skin sister named Sarah, who has a dog named Kallie, and a dad named David. My new fur brother is a lovable pup called Meatball.

My life in rescue has been incredible. I’ve seen so many Bulldogs find their adoptive families, and I often wondered if I would ever find mine. I wasn’t in a rush because I needed a home that understood my special medical needs. With a small trachea, I require a daily Benadryl to keep it relaxed and help me breathe easily.

Now, I’m living my dream. The wait is over, and I’m finally in the best home in the world with the best family, the one who truly wanted me.

Well friends it’s me Marlo Thomas and this week has been the best week of my life. I was picked up as a stray and no one came for me. Then I was picked up by rescue and here I am, happy as can be.

I know you might be wondering what happened to my ears. Well, someone cropped them to the side of my head. I guess they wanted to make me look mean. But I am anything but mean. I am actually as sweet as can be.

Dr. Larsen thinks I am about 2 years old, and that seems about right. In the coming days I will have a lot more to report about myself, but today I am going to sit with Dr. Larsen so she can see just as beautiful I am. I am really really beautiful. Inside and out.

12/29/22 Update:  Marlo Thomas is in her foster home and letting it be known that she is a very happy, fun girl! She likes to snuggle and get butt rubs. She’ll let you know when she needs or wants something. She’s a super sweet girl!

6/30/23 Update:  I left the vet clinic yesterday and now I am looking for a family. And not just any family…. a family who will be prefect for me. A family who is calm and does not require me to run a marathon or perform on an agility course. I need a laid-back family who just wants a laid-back Bulldog like me. I need a sofa.

I was born with a narrow trachea. It was something I most likely inherited. The only thing I take is one Benadryl a day. That keeps my trachea relaxed.

Some might say I am “special needs.”  That’s not true. I just have special requirements.

I need to stay calm. I can’t get over excited and I need to stay out of a situation that would require me to run.

I am the sweetest little lady and whoever adopts me will have the best lap lady they have ever met.

So, think about it. If you just want a companion and not a tug-of-war Bulldog, I may be your gal. My life expectancy is the same as other Bulldogs, providing you take good care of me.

My name is Marlo Thomas and I’m  between 2 or 3 years old.  I sure hope there is someone out there for me.

2/9/24 Update: This in my month ~ my month for LOVE!

Remember me, Marlo Thomas? I’ve been waiting a bit for someone who wants to adopt me. I am about 40 lbs. of nothing but love.

I obviously know that someone chopped my ears off before my life in rescue. Is that the reason no one wants me? I sure hope not. I didn’t have anything to do with that. As a matter of fact, it hurt.

Could it be because I have a narrow trachea? There’s no problem with that either. I take one Benadryl in the morning and one at night. That keeps my trachea relaxed. And if I hadn’t told you, you would never know it. When the weather is cool, I run like the wind outside with no problem. In the summer, like all Bulldogs, I lounge in the air conditioning.

I love all the other Bulldogs in the house. They might say I could be a pest sometimes, but I just want them to play with me.

7/18/24 Update:  Marlo Thomas here, reporting from my foster home! I’m still on the lookout for my next family. I’ve been in rescue for too long, wondering why I haven’t found my people yet.

Trust me, there’s nothing not to love about me. I’m petite, my fur is as soft as silk, and I adore every Bulldog I meet. I take a morning Benadryl to help with my trachea, but otherwise, I’m low-maintenance. Truly, I’m the ultimate Bulldog companion.

I thrive when I can be part of my family’s daily life and am perfectly content alone at home without needing a kennel. Hopefully, I may be your perfect match!
