They say every dog has their day ~ and today was Mongo’s big day!
Mongo found his forever home with Janice and Ryan, their two kids, Jackson and Charlotte, and a beautiful fur friend, Coco.
Mongo will never want for anything. This amazing family is no stranger to Bulldogs and Coco had not been herself since the passing of their previous Bulldog.
After the adoption papers were signed, Mongo was super excited to get in the car and get the show on the road.
Best of luck ,Mongo. You were one sweet Bulldog to foster and now your life is complete with your new family!
A cool thing happened to me this week ~ a really sweet lady came and took me to her home.
Before that, I had been confined in a crate for about two weeks. I was given away and bounced around several times. In my three years of life, I’ve never had a real place to call home.
My new friend, Bobbi, says she is going to be my foster mom. I’m not sure what that means, but it sure feels good to have her attention and love.
She let me out of the crate when she got there, and is showing me how I can calm down my excitement. I really like to jump a lot, even on people, but she says that’s not good manners. She’s teaching me how to sit and I’m trying to learn. She says I’m really smart and a quick learner. It’s really fun… Plus, I get snacks!
She doesn’t like me marking my territory at her house, so she tells me I’ll be learning about that too.
My foster mom loves my fur. She says I’m as soft as a big bag of fluffy cotton, and that my feet are so big, they’re cute.
Speaking of my feet, I have a cyst or something on my back foot. It doesn’t hinder my walking or anything. My eyes need a little attention too. I have one eye that’s cloudy and the other has a cherry. My foster mom says I’m going to the doctor soon to get all checked out.
I like car rides and I am excited to meet more people who want to make my life better. My foster momma says that’s her promise to me: a better life! So far, I’m loving Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue.
3/30/24 Update: After recovering from a bit of vet work, I arrived at my temporary foster home yesterday. I let my foster mom know right away there are only two things I need in life: FOOD and butt scratches.
Yes, I have some minor eye and skin issues, but they’re not too rare for Bulldogs. I’ll send another update after I have settled in for a few days.
4/5/24 Update: Mongo has been with us for three days and is settling in nicely. He hangs out around our two boys, but mostly ignores them. Here are a few things we have noticed….
He likes:
Food
Treats
Tennis balls
Butt scratches
Being outside
Fluffy outside furniture (especially the swing)
He dislikes:
Eye drops
Face cleaning
Having his ball taken away
Water hoses
Vacuum cleaners
Mongo seems super smart and responds well to correction and redirection. He is a real sweetheart and will be an awesome addition to someone’s family. He is currently working on taking treats gently.
