Rainy Day

Rainy Day

5/25/26 AWESOME ADOPTION ALERT! From volunteer Dianne: There was simply everything to love about Rainy Day.

Today, this beautiful girl begins her new life with Kyle and Lance, a family still carrying the heartbreak of losing their beloved Bulldog, Coco.

Coco was their first Bulldog, and she was deeply loved. She brought joy, companionship and a bond that can never be replaced. Even though time has passed, the loss still hurts. One of the hardest truths is that loss does not always come with old age. Sometimes cancer steals the young ones, too, and it leaves behind hearts that never fully stop missing them.

Coco will always be remembered. Always loved.

But today, Rainy Day begins helping mend those broken hearts.

Rainy Day knows what it feels like to be unwanted. Before rescue, she was found sitting in a crate in front of a store, being given away. She was thin, heartworm positive, confused and unsure of what would happen next.

Now everything has changed.

Now Rainy Day knows what it means to be safe. To be chosen. To belong to a family who already loves her deeply.

And maybe that is the beautiful thing about rescue. Sometimes the dogs who have experienced heartbreak themselves become the very ones who help heal it in others.

Congratulations, sweet Rainy Day. Your happily ever after was always waiting for you.

2/15/26 INTRODUCTION ~ Welcome Rainy Day to our rescue family! She writes: I thought Valentine’s Day would be the perfect day to begin my new life. I don’t think I’d ever been anyone’s valentine before.

Two weeks ago, the sweetest man found me sitting outside a business in a very small crate. He stopped, asked about me, and learned that I had already had babies and that I was only 2 years old. My owner said he didn’t want me anymore.

But this new kind man did.

Even though I was filthy and far too thin, he scooped me up and held me tight. He promised he would clean me up, feed me good food and reach out to rescue to help me find an amazing family. Honestly, when he said ‘clean you up,’ I was all in. That sounded wonderful.

For the first time in a long time, I had a full bowl of food all to myself. I could eat until my tummy was satisfied. I started to feel better. I started to look better. And when the time was right, I told the three little dogs I had been staying with that I was leaving on Valentine’s Day to start my new chapter.

I was nervous… but I knew rescue would take good care of me.

And I was right.

Now look at me. I’m clean, safe and I spent my first Valentine’s Day in a beautiful place, feeling hopeful about what comes next.

💚 We can’t do this alone. We are always in need of more foster families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to help dogs like these get the fresh start they deserve. If you’ve ever considered fostering, now is the time. Opening your home temporarily truly saves lives.

And if fostering isn’t possible right now, you can still make a huge difference by supporting our “Sláinte to Bulldogs” apparel fundraiser. Every order helps us cover essential vet bills and care costs for the dogs in our program. And you’ll get great Bulldog gear in return!
