It was the day Stanley dreamed about. It was his adoption day and he was super excited.
In rescue, Stanley started to feel better and better each day. His skin problems are now a thing of the past. Stanley’s hair is almost all grown back and his personality has really started to come out.
When Stanley saw his new parents with a new collar and leash, he could hardly stand still. He jumped and spun in a circle. I think I heard him say, “See ya later. I am going home with my new family.”
Stanley is the first Bulldog for this amazing family, but he won’t be the last. Both are Bulldog people now and, in a bit, I know they will be back to get Stanley a Bulldog sister. Maria told Stanley over and over what a beautiful Bulldog he is, and that she was going to love him forever. That’s just what Stanley had in mind: someone to love him forever.
I am going to miss this one. Stanley will always have a piece of my heart, but what a wonderful family he has now. I’ll see you soon … with a sister, Stanley!
I want to thank Kathy and her husband for saving my life! I don’t know how long I had been wandering in the heat. It is all a blur, but it seemed like days. When they found me, they took me inside and contacted rescue.
I think I am around 4 years old, but I really don’t know how to tell time or read a calendar. I am told this nice Dr. Larsen has a magical way to tell and will let everyone know.
My eyes are a mess and always have a bunch of green goop in them. I have this painful, bleeding spot on my shoulder that is 6-8 inches in diameter. And boy was I filthy. I must have been outside or maybe even rolling in dirt for days.
A man from rescue met up with Kathy to help me. He took me home, gave me a bath and doctored my sores and my eyes. He said I could have all the water I could drink, and I have been taking him up on that offer. I have been staying inside in the A/C. I even got to watch a movie with the lady who lives here. They also scanned me for a microchip, but I’m “chipless.”
Today, I am off to meet Dr. Larsen and let her look at all my bad spots. She will have me fixed up as good as new in no time. Stay tuned to see how handsome I really am!
7/29/20 Update: Stanley’s healing is coming along very nicely. He is such a sweet boy and just appreciates everyone and everything. His eyes look so much better now that you can see them and he can see you. The goop buildup is almost gone. And the best news is that he is ready to go home to a foster!
